Why findependent exists in the first place

As one of the very first employees at neon, our founder Matthias saw firsthand in 2018 how modern banking works: simple, low-cost, and transparent. It quickly became clear: when it comes to investing, exactly such a product was missing.

Many of his friends let their money wither away in savings accounts. Others used complicated bank products with hidden fees where, in the end, it was mainly the bank that profited. Matthias wanted to change that and create a solution he could recommend to all his friends with a clear conscience – easy to understand, without jargon, and with fair costs.

Today, findependent is exactly that. And even more: we now manage our customers’ accounts and custody accounts ourselves. This means for you: everything comes from a single source, without unnecessary detours via third-party banks. An app for Matthias’ friends. For you. And for your friends.

We take care of your investment solution and select the appropriate ETFs independently. This should actually be a matter of course, but unfortunately, in the financial industry, it often isn’t. We do without expensive branches and sales teams. This way, we keep the costs low so that more return ends up in your pocket. We manage your account and custody account ourselves. For you, this means: less bureaucracy, more speed, and maximum transparency. But we make no compromises when it comes to security. As an account-keeping investment firm, we are supervised by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority FINMA, so your money is as safe as with any bank.
